Luther Vandross

15.10.08

Today, I accidentally downloaded a song named “Dance with My Father”.

The song is performed by Luther Vandross, a singer that I had never heard before.

At first, I thought the song was so-so.

Out of my expectation, it was fantastic.

The lyric, rhyme, tone, plus the voice of the singer, everything about the song works so perfectly.

What I wanna emphasize here is the voice of Luther Vandross.

Three words to describe the voice of Luther.
Mellow, soft, and “man”.

It’s just hard to find another guy in this world with such voice.

So unique!

Here, I wanna introduce you guys to this song.

The song is dedicated to Vandross’ memory childhood dances with his father.

The video for this song features various celebrities alongside their fathers and other family members.

The most eye-catching pairs of “celebrities with fathers” sure is Beyonce with her father.

The song also won Luther his fourth and final award in the Best Male R&B Vocal Performance category.
Unfortunately, Luther Vandross died on July 1, 2005 at the age of 54.
The cause of his death was never publicly released.
What a loss to the Music Industry!

By the way, the release of the music video “Bye Bye” from Mariah Carey sees Luther's picture appear in the closing images.

His image was included as a tribute along with various other deceased people with whom Carey had collaborated with during her career.

Anyway, hope u guys enjoy listening to this song.
