Detox!

30.09.08

Pairs of chromosomes in a gene, and one determines your skin condition.

Genetics is one of the factors certainly to blame for bouts of acne.

Individuals with oily, thicker skin inherited from mom or dad tend to be most affected.

Unfortunately, I’m one of the individuals mentioned above.

I used to blame my parents (in my heart) for passing down such a bad gene to me.

But, nowadays, I’m no longer a “reproacher”.

Instead, I should thank my parents.

The inheritance of bad skin condition always reminds me to lead a healthy lifestyle (sound airs and graces, but it’s true).

Avoid taking in evil junk food, maintaining 8 hours sleep each day and exercising at least 3 times a week are the basic healthy lifestyle I mean.

However, sometimes, the seduction of the mean unhealthy food is irresistible.

For eg, during the steamboat gathering two days ago, I told myself that I should only take in the boiled food for my skin’s sake.

But when come to reality, it’s a different story.

Looking at the sausages sizzling on the teppanyaki made me lose control (as you can see from the pics in “steamboat gathering – 28.09.08”, our “steamboat” is teppanyaki and steamboat combined).

Forgetting about the “healthy lifestyle”, I ate tons of FRIED sausages, hams, fish balls, chicken slices, and sotong.

Guess what “awards” did I get in consequence of that.

Tons of acne!

Today, I told myself that I must undergo a detoxification to get rid of the acne during these few days before I go back to UUM.

A detoxification can be practiced at different levels, depending on your needs and how far you want to take it.
I have chosen the simple one.

Below is my DETOX plan :

1. DETOX DIETS:
Fresh Natural Organic Fruit Juice
Today, I tried to create a new juice – I hav oredy named it – Miracle Juice SK3
The combination is quite fresh.
Here is the “recipe”:

Ingredients:
½ Aloe vera
3 slices of honey dew
A bottle of Yakult yogurt drink

Steps:

1. Slice the aloe vera and the honey dew into small pieces.

2. Then put all the pieces into the blender.

3. Add the Yakult.

4. Push the button “ON” and wait for about 1 minute.

5. A glass of Miracle Juice SK3 is served.

Try it if you dare (cuz some people dun like the flavor of aloe vera).

2. DRINK, DRINK AND DRINK!
Water is the key to flushing out toxins.
So, I kept remind myself to drink water.
Before drinking water, I must remind myself to boil water first (since all of my family members were out of town).

3. WHAT GOES IN MUST COME OUT

It’s the best to begin with the intestines to prevent toxic substances from become reabsorbed.
So, I drank a glass of plain warm water once I wake up to moisture my intestines so that it can move adequately enough to expel the toxins.

4. YOGA
I choose to practice yoga since I am the kind of person who is lazy to move a lot.
Yoga has the ability to relax your body and control your breathing.
Depending on what yoga you practice, it has different outcome.
I choose to practice the simple one like:

Certainly not this:

Steambot Gathering

28th.09.08

To celebrate all of my friends back from different places (Sabah, Kedah, Penang, and Kl) during Hari Ray holidays, we organized a steambot gathering at my house.

All of my family members were out of town, so this was the good opportunity to have a gathering till late at night.

There were 12 people who would join the gathering this time.

They were Andy, Bee, Herman, Hoe Pui, Wai Hou, Lek, Chun Fei, Sin Teng, Jia Ling, Patricia, Wan Sin and of course, me. (Regrettably, Monica and Miki couldn’t join us this time)

Early in the morning, Pat, Andy, Herman, Hoe Pui went to buy the necessary thing and food.

Then, they took all the thing to my house.

It was my turn now to prepare the food (with the help of Hoe Pui)

The preparation included cleaning the raw food, slicing the meat into pieces, and the most troublesome part – decocting the Tom Yam soup.

Overall, Hoe Pui and I did a good job cuz the Tom Yam soup was tiptop – sourness and spiciness were in perfect balance.

The steambot gathering supposed to start at 7.30pm.

As usual, due to the latecomer, we started to eat at around 8pm.

The arrangement of the food seemed “professional”.

There were a lot of fun during the meal. Cracking jokes like 37 Celsius milk and future Teresa Kwok (the 12 people I mentioned above would know what i mean here).

The ambience just like the scene in the drama Moonlight Resonance. So warm!

We finished eating at 9.30pm. After that, Pat, Wan Sin and Jia Ling helped me cleaned up the places.

While the others were playing Dota in the living room.

After the dishes had been cleaned, four of us (pic above), Pat, Bee, Wan Sin and I were chatting in the dining room.

After all, steambot gathering for this time was very successful, cuz we didn’t over budget, furthermore, the quantity of the food was just enough – no more wasting.

I just wanna say - What a happy holiday!

Balik Kampong!

25.09.08

After taking my statistic exam today, I felt absolutely relaxed and excited.

Lol

Cuz tonight I was going to go back to Bentong – my hometown.

At around 6.30pm, my roommates headed to Chang Lun to take the bus back to KL.

The whole hostel became so quite after 8pm (cuz everyone had balik kampong)

It was quite scary when I was taking my bath cuz the surrounding was damned quite.

8.15pm, I went to dine with Fat Long at Mas café.

After that, I proceeded to the bus stop to wait for my #31 bus.

Coincidently, I met Wei Yan and Cheung who were going to go back to Pahang too at the bus stop.

We were chatting until the bus came at 10.30pm.

Luckily, Mei had kept a seat for me (cuz the bus was free-seated one).

Thanks, Mei.

I closed my eyes and listened to music, and tried not to talk to Mei ( cuz she said she NEVER sleeps during the long journey back to hometown – meaning to say that she would keep talking with the people sit beside her during the journey – things that I dun wan to happen)

What to do?

Pretended I was SO tired and sleepy and closed my eyes all the time.

After 8 hours, finally, I arrived at the Bentong bus station.

Thanks God!

Moonfest Charity Show

22th.09.08

There was something going on in Dewan Mas tonight.

Everyone knew it.

What’s else can it be?

Sure it was the Mooncake Festival Charity Show.

It was so well-known cuz the promotion of the event was started since last month.

Fat Long forced me to buy one ticket(since he was one of the committee of the charity show).

I thought the level of the show was same as the secondary school’s level.

Out of my expectation, it was fantastic.

Really gorgeous!

Around 7pm, Ham, Nano, Boon, and I headed to Dewan Mas

What a “coincidence”!
(Nano would know the meaning of the inverted commas)

We met Li Teng, so we walked together to Dewan Mas.

Before we went inside, we took some pictures.

Ham, Nano, Li Teng & Me

Li Xian & Li Teng

Snaps below were distributed by Sin (cuz i couldn’t take any clear images with my k810).

Acrobatics performance by acrobats from China.

Lion Dance

Orchestral performances by U’s orchestra team – the most boring part of the show.

Fashion show – models decked out in traditional clothes of diff races.

After all, this has been a night to remember.

Farewell

19-09-08

Today I took my Managerial Math exam.

The questions weren’t very tough, just like the previous Math’s paper.

So, as usual, I double checked my answers after I had done all the questions with full attention.

After I had passed up my paper, I was asked by Ong to stay and wait.

Just as what Hamizan had told me this morning, we were going to give our Math Lecturer, Mr. Mohd Noor a present as a keepsake.

This was because our Mr. Lecturer was going to leave us to further his study in UK next week.

What a disappointing news for the girls (especially the “jellyfish”).

Mr Mohd Noor is the one who is wearing white shirt (sitting in the front site).

Me, Mr Mohd Noor and Hamizan (I looked pale, probably becuz i had just finished my exam.)

As you can see from the pictures, he is quite “handsome” (if compared with the lecturers that I have seen before, that’s the reason why I wanna use inverted commas.)

Lastly, To Mr.Mohd Noor,
I wanna say that I really appreciate what you had taught me these last few months,
ALL THE BEST to u.

An advance celebration of Mooncake Festival

13.09.08

As far as I am concerned, this year Mooncake Festival was really “special” to me.
Celebrating Mooncake Festival without my family and friends made me feel horrible.
Moreover, I haven’t eaten any mooncake(one that I used to eat during Moon Fest) yet.

Moon cake dedication from friends.
It was touching when I received it (though the mooncake tasted horrible).

Luckily, some of my friends had planned something to celebrate the Moon Fest.
At night, we gathered in front of the Mas café.
Each of us brought a latern and some food.
So we chit chat under the moon while eating food that we brought.

Starting from left : Me, Alex, Pit ling, and Chai Li.

( The Moon behind us was created by myself cuz that night, the moon was partly covered by the dark cloud.)

James with his latern.

Alex and Keong.

Though it was not the typical type of Moon Fest celebration that I used to have, I still enjoyed every moment celebrating Moon Fest here with my friends.

Pork meal ^-^

12.09.08

Today, around 4.30pm, four of us – Keong,Nano, Boon and I went to Chang Lun.
Again, our purpose was to buy some “supplies”.

During Bulan Ramaddhan, “supplies” especially Maggie Mee were running out quickly.

That meant money was also “running out” quickly.

What to do?

Hav to live frugally this whole month.

Nano and Keong playing with the sunglasses inside C-Mart.
Both of them looked funny, don't you think so?

Beside buying some necessities, Boon intended to buy tickets back to Johor (Boon is a Johor Lang) at the terminal bus of Chang Lun.

Tickets were sold expensively during Hari Perayaan (as many people will balik kampong during Hari Raya.)

My ticket back to Bentong costs RM60 (which has been risen by 30%).
Unbelievable!

But still have to buy cuz miss home.

After the shopping spree, we headed to “Xiang Jian”( a Kampung type “restaurant” near C-Mart) to hav our dinner.

This was the great opportunity to eat something non-halal ^-^

There was only one chef inside the open kitchen.

Furthermore, the chef was an old lady.
So called Gu Lou Yok - pork meal tt v ordered

We waited for 45 minutes and once the food was served, we gobbled down all the food in just 15 minutes.

I guessed that we were really hungry.

( Pic : They seemed really enjoy the dinner just now)

After our dinner, we headed to the terminal bus waiting for the bus back to UUM.

Nano must be exhausted.

Otherwise, there would be no chances for me to take this picture.

What a day!

We successfully arrived "home" at 9.30pm.

Now, I'm really looking forword to have the pork meal again.

PERFECT!

10.09.08

Somehow, I just felt that my accounting lecturer did not “like” me.

How did I know?

From the expression in his eyes,

the way he looked at me

plus my sixth sense told me so.
Feeling kinda weird during his class (cuz i kept on thinking he didn't like me.)

Today, Mr.Lecturer let us to choose whether we wanna have our quiz in today or in next week.

He kept emphasizing that today quiz was far easier than the next week one.

What to do?

So, we all chose to be quizzed today.

I teamed up with Boon to do the questions.

Jacob + Boon = Excellent

(this is the new formula that I discovered during our cooperation in the question answering)

We finished it early. (the 1st team finished the questions.)

Mr.Lecturer come over to check our answers.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Guess what did he said?

“Correct figures, and correct transactions recording”

PERFECT

What?

The word “perfect” was just popped out from his mouth.

Though it’s not a big deal achievement, it seemed unreal to me(especially when he looked at me and said the word “perfect”.)

First time appraisal from the lecturer (especially lecturer that you thought he didn’t like you), it means that I have already changed his impression of me.

LOL

MERDEKA VS BBQ

31.08.08

Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!

Today is Malaysia 51th Independence Day.

Sure we have to celebrate this big day.

I was asked by my friend, Myron to attend his BBQ party in his house in Alor Star.

We (Nano, Keong, Kieth And I ) boarded the bus at 5.13pm.

Around 6.45pm, we arrived in Shahab Perdana (Bus terminal in Alor Star) and fetched by Myron.

Myron's house is very big and beautiful as you can see from the picture.

BBQ was started at around 10pm.

Preparation took a lot of time.

Especially the part of setting the coal on fire.

You can see how hard to build a fire from the picture.
Sam was using a big fan to blow the fire.
Thank GOD, the fire was finally built.

Though there was not a variety of food prepared, the food was really fine pickled.
Juicy hotdog and chicken wings, delicious!

We intended to go to cyber café to play DOTA after the BBQ.
However, our plan was totally “destroyed” by the pouring rain.

The night was still young (as we were going to spend one night in Myron's house).
We had to find something to fill up our time.
So, we watched the “Jackass”.
We were laughing out loud when watching this crazy movie.
Eating shit, running around naked and all kind of crazy acts were done by the guys inside the movie.
You should check out this movie if you dun believe how crazy is it.
Dunno until what time we all went to sleep.
What a tiring day!

DIRTY DAY!

30.08.08

Today the “dirty side” of my hostel was revealed.

Dirty water supplying to our hostel was really disgusting.

Let me show you some proofs,

Yellow colored water, just seemed like kopi O.

The real disgusting part was that I had to use this kopi O water to bath.

Terrible, horrible and unbelievable!

Later on, my senior, Sifu asked if we (kieth, Boon, keong and I) wanted to join him for dinner in Chang Loon cuz he think the canteens here would probably use the unclean water to cook. *( Chang Loon is a small town near my U)

For my health sake, I quickly said yes.

We dined in a restaurant inside the C Mart.
The surrounding of this restaurant was quite high class. Hard to find such place in small town like Chang Lun.
I ordered Lemon Chicken Rice + a glass of coke.
Did it seem like fine dining? (probably it seemed fine dining because of my photo snapping skill)
Dining with Boon and Kieth. Boon was busy smsing while Kieth was posing for???.

After the dinner, we went to buy daily necessity in the mall.

Two days later Bulan Ramadhan is going to start.

For your information, during Puasa, canteens here are not going to open(except during buka Puasa).

So buying things like Maggie mee is totally necessary.
At last, we went back to UUM with a full loaded car.
